Editor's Note

It's been seven weeks since the last issue, and the backlog shows: 99 stories, and security alone accounts for more than half of them. The throughline this cycle is AI turning into an offensive and defensive tool at the same time β€” Cloudflare's Project Glasswing and Verizon's DBIR both point to adversaries using AI to find and exploit vulnerabilities faster, while Microsoft's RAMPART, OpenAI's Daybreak, and a wave of new agentic pentesting tools (AIRecon, Pentest Copilot, Visa's own vulnerability harness) are the defenders' answer. The Klue app compromise, which let attackers reach into Salesforce tenants through a trusted third-party integration, is this issue's clearest reminder that supply-chain trust is still the softest target. On the AI side, GEPA shows up twice as the optimization technique of the moment, agentic SDLC pieces from Optiver and a Kaggle whitepaper argue coding agents are reshaping how software actually gets built, and Ethan Mollick's 'Choosing to Stay Human' is worth sitting with as a counterweight. Finance and PM round it out with China's semiconductor and biotech ambitions, wealth-management platforms chasing the DIY investor, and a running debate about whether compliance and formal methods are becoming load-bearing parts of the stack rather than afterthoughts.
